Both counselling and psychotherapy are types of talking therapies. These therapies have been shown to help people deal with difficulties such as stress, anxiety, anger management, depression, traumatic stress, sexual abuse and relationship problems. As well as breakdowns, eating disorders, low self-esteem and confidence, loss and grief, bereavement, self-harm and personality difficulties.
We listen to your individual needs and give you a space to talk freely about how you feel. Talking about the things in your life that are causing you problems in a confidential space with a qualified counsellor is an effective way to tackle problems.
Counselling is a psychological help to improve your mental health. Counselor would work on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors thereby helping you to problem-solve.
Counselor would be completely nonjudgmental, listen and empathize with you and then help you see new perspectives about the situations you are going through. We believe that you have the ability to problem-solve and make decisions. Our work is just to improve your mental health and thereby reminding you about your abilities.
Counselling does not only help you to problem solve, it would also help you prevent problems and develop your personality. We provide both face-to-face/in person counselling and online counseling.
A session usually lasts for 45 Minutes to 1 Hour.
Phone counseling provides people with the opportunity to talk with someone who listens and is supportive. Our counselors use various techniques designed to help clients cope with or improve their situation and relationships. Each session will take approximately 50 minutes to an hour. Every phone call conversation ever conducted with our counselors and clients are confidential, private and anonymous. Your information and identity remain confidential and private.
Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.
Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better with certain problems or issues. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with medication or other therapies.
Therapy may be conducted in an individual, family, couple, or group setting, and can help both children and adults. Sessions are typically held once a week for about 50 minutes to an hour. Both patient and therapist need to be actively involved in psychotherapy. The trust and relationship between a person and his/her therapist is essential to working together effectively and benefiting from psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy can be short-term (a few sessions), dealing with immediate issues, or long-term (months or years), dealing with longstanding and complex issues. The goals of treatment and arrangements for how often and how long to meet are planned jointly by the patient and therapist.
Child and adolescent counselling helps children or young people explore any concerns that may be causing problems in their social, emotional or cognitive development. The therapeutic process gives them the opportunity to express difficult or confused feelings in a safe environment with clear boundaries. The relationship with the counsellor is non-directive allowing the child freedom to express him/her physically, verbally or creatively. Therapy for teenagers and young people can support individuals with developing their awareness to deal with social situations, relationships both personally and professionally including peer pressure and family, education, sexual health issues.

Another area where children need psychological help is in academics. It is our belief that if children are backward in studies it is due to the reasons that are beyond their control such as low level of intellectual functioning, specific developmental disorders of scholastic skills (dyslexia), emotional problems such as fear of teachers, aversion developed towards specific subjects, poor study habits, low motivation, unhealthy family environments and children reacting to parents by not studying, etc. As part of helping children with problems in academics, we engage in assessments such as of intelligence, screening for dyslexia, aptitude tests, exploring emotional and family related concerns, etc. and provide appropriate interventions.

The purpose of couple therapy is to restore a better level of functioning in couples who experience relationship distress. The reasons for distress can include poor communication skills, incompatibility, or a broad spectrum of psychological disorders that include domestic violence, alcoholism, depression, anxiety etc. The focus of couple therapy is to identify the presence of dissatisfaction and distress in the relationship and to devise and implement a treatment plan with objectives designed to improve or alleviate the presenting symptoms and restore the relationship to a better and healthier level of functioning. Couples therapy can assist persons who are having complaints of intimacy, sexual, and communication difficulties.
Psychological assessment is a process of testing that uses a combination of techniques to help arrive at some hypotheses about a person and their behavior, personality and capabilities. Psychological assessment is also referred to as psychological testing or performing a psychological battery on a person.
